Montchevré is the largest goat cheese manufacturer in the United States, and continues to operate with the same core goals and values since it began 25 years ago.
In 1989, co-founders Arnaud Solandt and Jean Rossard brought four generations of unique goat cheese "savoir-faire" from the southwest region of France to the US and built the company to where it is today, supporting a network of 360+ independent family farms and offering over 75 varieties of goat cheese products.
Goat Logs
Made with full respect for traditional French cheese making techniques, this unflavored goat cheese rondin (log) is 2 lbs of soft, goat-y, and creamy. Perfect for cheese boards, crumbling, melting or a great base for recipes and fillings.
MINI BRIE
Montchevré's Goat Milk Brie has a rind made of a white penicillium often referred to as “fleurie.” The white velvet-like exterior protects a soft, oozing, and creamy inside that has a smooth and delicate taste. Like many soft-ripened cheeses, the taste and flavor profile evolves through a natural aging process called “lipolise.” The cheese will develop stronger earthy accents and becomes softer and creamier as it slowly ages from the outside in. The perfect cheese is to serve as part of a cheese board or as an appetizer.
MINI CAMEMBERT
This mild and creamy goat brie is hand made in small vats, and slowly aged to achieve a smooth, delicate, yet mild goat flavor. Made according to the true soft ripened techniques, La Chevriotte is not stabilized and will get “runny” with aging.
BUCHERON
Move over France because the United States has created a masterful rendition of the classic Bucherondin. From Montchevre dairy located in Wisconsin, this handcrafted soft goat displays the hallmarks that were once only found in imported cheeses. A delicate bloomy rind envelopes the dual-textured paste: ivory colored & creamy along the rind, chalky white & crumbly in the center. The taste carries a mild goaty tang with a subtle earthiness.
CHEVRE IN BLUE
Aged: 3 months
Wonderfully mild in blue & goat flavor, Montchevre’s blue goat makes a perfect pairing for cheese boards. Its appearance is a stimulating contrast of white paste & blue veining coupled with a texture that is a crumbly buttery balance accented with that perfect tang to increase its interest.
