Since 1935, Rogue creamery (formerly called the Rogue River Valley Creamery) has been making exceptional cheeses in the south west corner of Oregon, near the California border. This Gorgonzola-style cheese takes on sharp, tangy, fruity characteristics during its cave-aging that evoke Rogue Creamery’s Italian heritage. Oregonzola has slight, classic veins of mold & a creamy, buttery texture.

An award-winning blue (“Best-in-Show,” American Cheese Society, 2009 & “Best Blue Cheese,” World Cheese Awards in London, 2004), Rogue River Blue is naturally inoculated in caves that simulate the famous Roquefort caves in France. Its creaminess is aided by the hand wrapping of each wheel in Syrah grape leaves macerated in pear brandy. With a flavor that denotes hints of sweet woodsy pine, morels & pears, this blue is strong yet incredibly pleasant & offers a flavor that begins softly, builds to perfect intensity & leaves a pleasant, lingering finish.
